Baseball roundup for April 11: Oxford tops Torrington

Jake Biondo led Oxford with a two-run single and Rich Evans added two hits in a 4-1 NVL victory over Torrington at Fuessenich Park. on Thursday.
Liam Donaldson pitched a complete game for Oxford (4-1), which has won four in a row since a season-opening 1-0 loss to Amity of Woodbridge.
Aaron Bainer had two hits for the Red Raiders (1-2) and Kyle Banche added an RBI single to account for Torrington’s only run.
Terryville 3, Thomaston 1: Albert Molina allowed two hits and three walks and struck out three to lead the Kangaroos to a Berkshire League win over previously undefeated Thomaston.
Colin Bamrick had a single and triple and a run scored for Terryville (2-2), which scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Anthony Pires added an RBI triple and scored a run.
Matt Fabiano had a single and run scored for Thomaston (4-1) and Al Mentone also singled.
Isaiah Johnson allowed four hits and one earned run over six innings for Thomaston.

Sierra Cripps added two singles, a double and three RBI for the Wildcats and Alyssa Johnson chipped in with three hits and two RBI. Jenna Geffert tossed a two-hitter with seven strikeouts for Seymour (5-1), winners of five in a row after a non-league, 5-4 season-opening loss to Trumbull.
Jenna Malino and Madi Ramos singled for Ansonia (1-5).
Watertown 18, Sacred Heart 1: Freshman Paige Fekete earned her first win giving up six hits, while striking out 10 and she also drove in three runs.
Chloe DeFeo led the team’s 20-hit attack with five hits, four RBI and three runs scored. along with Nicole DeFeo for Watertown (2-2). Brianna Catalani drove in five runs on three hits. Makayla Beauty and Taryn White tripled for the Indians.
Victoria Turrell singled and doubled for the Hearts (2-3).
Northwestern 16, Gilbert 0 (5): Jana Sanden had a home run, double and four RBI for the Highlanders.
Sydney Sanden added three singles and Ellie Olsen for Northwestern (4-0) and Ava Blanchard each contributed two singles and a triple. Lexi Fortier allowed four hits with seven seven strikeouts over four innings.
Mary Ellen Marino had a double and Jill Wexler added a single while Abbey Beecher added two singles for Gilbert (1-3).
Wamogo 15, Litchfield 1: Samantha Sylvester allowed one hit and struck out 11 to earn the win for the Warriors.
Cassidy Wilson homered for Wamogo, which improved to 4-0. Katherine Marola drove in a run for Litchfield (0-4).

Jalissa Robles had two singles, a stolen base, and scored a run off of Claribel Vazquez Ruiz’s RBI single in the third for Kennedy. Shyan Perez also had two singles and a stolen base.
