Highlights for Jan. 20: Chudoba, Bojka join 1,000-point club

Cole Chudoba recorded 21 points, including his 1,000th career point with 2:20 left in the game, as Oxford fell to Kennedy, 88-49. Lashawn Smith paced Kennedy with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
Raheem Solomon had 24 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer, to lead Sacred Heart over Benjamin Cardozo of New York, 70-69. Courie Stevenson added 19 points for the Hearts.
Miguel Rivera had 22 points in Crosby’s 82-55 win over Wolcott.
Jaden Battle had 20 points as WCA downed Woodland, 76-54. Zack Bedryczuk scored 23 points  for the Hawks.
Cristyan Clase scored 23 points, while Demetrus Robinson had 20 points, to lead Ansonia over Wilby, 68-65.
Kevin Crawford converted a 3-point play with seven seconds left to help host Seymour down Naugatuck, 65-64. Nick Martins scored 19 points to lead Seymour.
Max Chabot of Kaynor Tech scored 22 points in an 85-49 loss to Harding.
Jake Royer scored 13 points to lead Gilbert to its first win of the season, 40-37 at Litchfield.
Josh Schibi had 20 points for Lewis Mills as it earned an 85-42 win over Shepaug.
Josh McGettigan posted 22 points and nine rebounds to lead Pomperaug over Stratford, 77-54.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Woodland’s Morina Bojka scored 32 points to eclipse 1,000 points for her career and lead the Hawks to a 55-47 win over WCA in Waterbury. Bojka, who played one season for Chase Collegiate, now has 1,015 points.

Raven Cody scored 21 points to lead Wolcott over Crosby, 43-34.
Torrington’s Brie Pergola netted 21 points as the Red Raiders edged Sacred Heart, 46-44. Treasure Coleman recorded 20 points for the Hearts.
Faith Thurmond had 19 points for Seymour as it defeated Naugatuck, 53-42.
Gabbie Dunn of Westover had 29 points in a 57-48 loss to Greens Farms.
Kristina Fiallos had 18 points while LaRissa Rodriguez had 17 to lead Ansonia past Wilby, 45-28. The Chargers ended a 66-game NVL winless streak.
Sam Foley of Litchfield posted 23 points in a 50-38 loss at Gilbert.
Karli Opalka had  22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Pomperaug past Stratford, 70-27.
