Cheshire, Pomperaug eye Class L swim titles

Cheshire and Pomperaug will shoot for state titles at the Class L swim championships tonight at Southern Connecticut State University.
The Rams’ Liz Boyer qualified first in the 200 freestyle (1:53.39) and the 100 butterfly (57.57).
Teammate Cameryn Guetens qualified first in the 500 free (4:59.70) and third in the 200 free (1:54.06).
Cheshire’s 200 free relay of Amanda Go, Shannon Lindsey, Jordyn Deubel and Esther Han qualified second (1:41.77).
For Pomperaug, Gwen Strickland qualified third in the 100 free (53.49) and fifth in the 200 free (2:00.74).
The Panthers’ 400 free relay of Sarah Belden, Margaret Flaherty, Hallie Perrin and Strickland qualified second (3:39.43).
