WATERBURY — The Class M No. 1 seed, Sacred Heart, crushed No. 32 Killingly Tuesday night at Alumni Hall, 94-30, in the first round of state tourney play.
The Hearts (22-2) move into the second round to face NVL foe Watertown, 58-43 winners over Lewis Mills.
Mustapha Heron led the Hearts with 24 points, and is now just 81 points away from hitting 2,000 for his career.
Tyrn Flowers added 13, John Riddick 14, with 10 rebounds, Raheem Solomon 12, and Charles Fisher 10. Solomon chipped in with six steals and six assists.
Derek Grzysiewicz led the Redmen (7-14) with eight points.
